Open Monumentendag Delft

On Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September 2023, during the 37th Open Monumentendag, visitors can look around for free in a number of beautiful monuments in Delft. More than forty buildings open their doors and give the public a look behind the front door. 

This year there are two monuments that could not be visited for a long time:  
- The Oostpoort. This iconic landmark for the city can also be viewed from the inside this weekend. 
- Office of the Duwo Foundation with two beautifully restored lecture halls. In one of the rooms hangs a (colourful) work of art by the well-known Delft artist Jan Schoonhoven.

Of course, a large number of interesting veterans also participate, such as: Stadsherberg de Mol, Roeiverging Laga, Bacinol 2/Huszar, Sociëteit Steadfastheid, the Lutheran Church and the floating monument Pakschuit Nooitgedacht. 

Musicians, actors and storytellers perform in various monuments. 
Children can do something fun at many monuments, or pick up the Kinder Kijkkaart from Mrs. Monumentendag on the Markt. 

There are also interesting guided tours this year, for example a walk that focuses on a number of Delft musical artists. Or discover which famous and pioneering women have lived in Delft during the power women's walk.

Opened monuments can be recognized during the weekend by a blue flag with the Open Monumentendag logo on it. All activities are free.
