Laboratory of the Department of Physics and Electrical Engineering
The building was part of the complex containing the former laboratory of the Department of Physics and Electrical Engineering of the Polytechnic School (now TU Delft). At present, it is used by DUWO as a student housing complex.

Iron-free building for electromagnetic tests
The building was built in 1902-1903 based on J. van Lokhorst’s Gothic Revival design of 1899. The dynamo room of the laboratory was set up in a separate block. An iron-free building was constructed in the T-shaped main block for conducting electromagnetic tests. In 1949, the Department of Maintenance and Extension Works of the Government Building Agency, extended this so-called ‘iron-free building’ with two floors. Since then, instead of one layer with a flat roof, this wing consists of three layers with a flat roof. The sober detailing of the existing building was continued in the new extension. The adjoining director’s residence was located on the east side.

High Voltage Laboratory
When the new Physics building on Mijnbouwplein became ready for use in 1930, this building became available to the Department of Electrical Engineering. Some rooms on the third floor were meant to be used as lecture rooms of the Department of Weights and Measures. The High Voltage Laboratory of 1937 was built as an extension on the south-eastern side by the same department of the Central Government Real Estate Agency. In 1953, this department also constructed a half-sunken single-layer extension on the southern façade of this laboratory. In 1969, the Department of Electrical Engineering left the building. The building was fitted with a goods lift for carrying equipment. This equipment was then further transported with the help of trolleys that conveyed it on rails to the lecture halls. These rails are still present in the building.
