Public transport to and in Delft
Visit Delft at your leisure and arrive comfortably by train, tram or bus. The city has excellent public transport links. The modern underground railway station in Delft was opened in 2015 and a second railway tunnel is under construction.
Train
Delft has two railway stations: Delft and Delft Campus. The historic city centre is just a few minutes’ walk from Delft Station.
As Delft is located right between The Hague and Rotterdam, many trains go to and from Delft at regular intervals, so you never have to wait long. Check the up-to-date timetable to plan your trip.

It is around a 10-minute walk from the station to Delft’s city centre.
To travel by public transport, you will need what is known as an OV-chip card or you can use a debit card or credit card. Individual tickets can also be bought at one of the NS-vending machines at the station (with a small surcharge). If you don’t have an OV-chip card or other payment method and you want to take the bus or tram, you can buy a ticket from the driver (with a small surcharge).
Tram
The tram is a quick and enjoyable way to reach Delft, which is on two tram lines.
Tram 1
This line runs from Scheveningen (beach) to Delft Zuid and passes near all the best highlights in both The Hague and Delft. As you travel along this line, you can stop at the Kunstmuseum or Mauritshuis in The Hague or at the Oude Kerk, Nieuwe Kerk, or the Vermeer Centrum in Delft.
Tram 19
This line runs from Leidsenhage to Delft Station. Get off at the Prinsenhof stop and cross the street to the Museum Prinsenhof Delft. If you wish to visit the historic city centre, you can get off at either the Prinsenhof or Station Centrum stops.
