THE BOTANICAL GARDEN

The beautiful Botanical Garden of Delft lies partly concealed behind the imposing historic buildings of Delft University of Technology. The garden has been the scene of botanical research for more than 100 years.

BOAT TOUR OF DELFT

Knus

If you are looking for fun activities on the water to keep your kids entertained, you should visit Knus. This party centre is located in a nature area just 10 minutes away from the historic centre of Delft.

You can rent a small boat or a water cycle and when you come back, the kids can amuse themselves for hours in the play area with its maze. You can recover from your exertions and enjoy a refreshing drink on the patio looking out over the water, or, in cold weather, snuggle up to the stove with a mug of hot chocolate.

PETTING FARMS AND WATER PARKS

Delft has two fantastic water parks with all kinds of cool equipment: BuytenDelft and Tanthof. The kids can build their own dams here and indulge in hours of watery fun. Animal lovers will also enjoy themselves here. Both water parks include a petting farm. You can pet goats, watch hamsters at play and feed the ducks: guaranteed fun with your kids.

You can buy an 'old-fashioned’ puzzle trail for children aged 6 to 12 from the Tourist Office. With a free ice cream as an added bonus. The puzzle trail costs €2.50.

You can learn all about nature at De Papaver. This sustainability centre is located in the beautiful Delftse Hout nature and recreational area. The exhibitions change regularly and you can rent educational activity packages here. For example, you can set out your own exciting evening walk, or make your own cheese. All kinds of fun activities are offered for children during the school holidays.

INDOOR PLAYGROUNDS

Let the kids blow off steam in one of Delft's indoor playgrounds. At Avontura Delft, you can bounce high up in the air on trampolines or take a ride down the toboggan run.

At Monkeytown, kids can run, climb, slide, jump and play monkey tricks. There is also an exciting laser game. After all that climbing and jumping, the kids can take a breather in the 5D cinema.

Is one of your kids the next Max Verstappen? If so, Race Planet Delft is the place to be! Children from 8 years of age (minimum height of 1.35 metres) learn racing skills here in special karts for rookies. Just get in and go for it.

You can do more than just look around in Science Centre Delft. This centre is all about hands-on fun: you can build your own robot, design a birdhouse or fashion your own sculpture from polystyrene with one of your friends.
