2,5x a football field with plants and trees

Enjoy 7,000 exotic varieties of plants and trees! Visit the Botanical Garden of the University of Technology. It is the largest indoor green space in the centre of Delft, covering 2.5 hectares. Exactly 100 years ago – in 1917 – Gerrit van Iterson founded the 'Cultural Garden for Technical Crops' in order to cultivate plants for scientific research and education in the technical application of crops from all climate zones. The Botanical Garden still plays an important role in research and education even today. The complex is divided into four main gardens: the Tree Garden, The Greenhouses, The Middle Garden, and The Technical Garden. It is definitely worth a visit, and it only takes 15 minutes to walk from the Market square through the historical East Gate to the Botanical Garden.
